Just when you thought the boys of One Direction couldn’t get any closer, or more awkward, Elle Girl Japan recently asked them to pick their ideal date from within the group. While there was the expected pairing of Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne — will those two just hold hands on the beach already? — you’ll never believe which member got no love from the rest of the guys!

Louis: He’s a solid choice. I think I … Hmm … Come back to me.
Niall Horan: I’d date Louis.
Louis: I think I might date Niall. … I was gonna say you, Niall!
Niall: I’d like to go to a theme park with you on our first date.
Louis: I reckon we’d have a good laugh.
Liam: I think I’d date Louis, as well. If I was a girl, that is. … I’d date Louis.
Louis: I’m gonna be a busy boy!
Zayn Malik: Well, I’d date none of you, ’cause none of you picked me!
Poor Zayn! His fellow band mates may not want to take him out for a night on the town, but I can think of a few (million) girls that might feel differently.
