If the May 15 season finale of 90210 was turned into a late-’90s FOX game show, it would probably be called Who Wants To Impregnate A Teenager, as Silver (Jessica Stroup) spent the better part of the hour choosing which of her friends-with-benefits she wanted to make a baby with. Her choices: Navid (Michael Steger Jr.), who confessed his undying love for her, and Liam (Matt Lanter), who might actually be the only character on the show prettier than her. And after much careful consideration, Silver chose…
…Neither! In a surprising turn of events — or not-so-surprising, depending on whether or not you noticed his name listed as a guest star — Silver decided she wanted Teddy (Trevor Donovan) to knock her up.
Real talk: That baby hasn’t even been conceived yet, and it’s already beautiful.
Meanwhile, Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) gave Max (Josh Zuckerman) a doozy of a decision to make when she interrupted his wedding and told him not to marry Madison. Though he didn’t react right away, Max ended up leaving his blushing bride at the altar for his former flame. I’m not sure what this means for Naomi’s new job — her old event-planner boss wanted her to open up her office in New York — but I’m glad she’s finally done pining over PJ (Nick Zano). That needed to end badly.
Speaking of things ending badly, Annie (Shenae Grimes) decided it was time to cut ties from Caleb (Robert Hoffman). If I’m being honest, their relationship never really made sense to me, so I wasn’t too bummed to see it dissolve. I mean, did she not refer to her and Liam as “meant to be” last week? How could she possibly care about Caleb when, deep down, she knew they didn’t really have a future together?
There’s someone else I’d like to be honest about now: I hate Ivy (Gillian Zinser). I think she sucks, and her behavior on this week’s finale did nothing to change my mind. When she found out Diego (Yani Gellman) was going to be deported, she immediately offered to marry him. What is it with Ivy and thinking that getting hitched is the solution to all of her problems? As evidenced by her last marriage — Is Raj’s body even cold yet, by the way? — it only causes her more trouble. She eventually decided to move to Mexico City so she could be with him, and I say “good riddance.”
Cut to Liam, who remained frustrated — and thankfully shirtless — about Silver’s indecision. He got his hopes up when he thought he heard Silver enter his bar, but it turned out to be Vanessa (Arielle Kebbel) with some bad news. Because his crappy alien movie movie did surprisingly well, the studio greenlit a sequel, which meant he’d have to leave the country in three days to film it. Not to get too technical, but if a movie was just picked up would it really already have a script, a cast and a crew in place?
And because no finale would be complete without a cliffhanger, Dixon (Tristan Wilds) was involved in a horrific car accident on the way back to L.A. to meet Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes). Convinced he had forgotten all about her, Ade hopped a plane to Vegas with Austin (Justin Deeley) to open for his dad — and something tells me they won’t return as two single people on the season premiere.
What did you think of the season finale? Will you miss Ivy? Did Silver pick the right baby daddy? And are you worried we may never see Dixon alive again? Hit up the comments section with your thoughts!
