Stephen is madly in love with Anna, and he says their relationship is based on “trust” both “on and off camera.” Plus, their vampire sex on True Blood is HOT!
Stephen Moyer knew long before the rest of the world that his fiancé and True Blood co-star Anna Paquin was bisexual. “It wasn’t something that was kept from me,” Stephen tells Playboy. “I’ve never been in a relationship before which, literally within the first three days, all the cards were laid out!”
The fact that Anna, 27, said, “I’m Anna Paquin. I’m bisexual, and I give a damn,” in a public service announcement for the True Colors Fund in April doesn’t bother Stephen, 40, in the least bit. “I condone what she has done 100 percent,” he says. “It’s her business to talk about it, not mine. It doesn’t change anything. I’m proud of who she is!”
And the big question: does Stephen worry that Anna may cheat on him with a woman once they’re married? (The couple got engaged in Aug. 2009) Not at all! “We trust each other so implicitly that there’s never anything hurtful,” he says. “She doesn’t pull any punches. It always comes from a loving place. With Anna, it’s just about pure trust, on and off camera. I have never trusted anybody like I trust Anna.”
Stephen fell completely in love when he first met Anna during the negotiations stage of True Blood. “I had returned to London to take a chill after four back-to-back gigs. I told my manager, ‘Don’t send me any more scripts. I’m not interested,'” explains Stephen. “She said, ‘Read just this one for me,’ and three days later I was sitting in [series creator] Alan Ball’s office with Anna, talking about True Blood.”
And after the first season ended, Stephen had to return to London while Anna went back to New York. “It felt as though part of me had been removed when Anna and I were apart,” he confesses.
But, soon enough the couple was back on set filming the crazy “human-on-vampire sex scenes” that True Blood fans can’t get enough of. And, funnily enough, neither can Stephen. “In terms of speed and timing, you may be able to have sex that lasts for days,” Stephen admits of his character vampire Bill Compton’s sex life. “Vampire sex is muscular and physical, so it could be tiring for a human guy to have sex with a female vampire.”
Thank goodness it’s the opposite on the show. Anna plays Sookie Stackhouse, the human love interest of vampire Bill!
