Want to copy Jen’s California cool makeup? Her makeup artist shows you how!
Jennifer Aniston looked stunning at the NYC premiere of her new flick, The Bounty Hunter on Mar. 16. “I wanted everything to look like skin,” says her makeup artist, Angela Levin who actually did Jen’s makeup on the set of the film too. “When you keep makeup simple, it ends up looking pretty and not like makeup. She looks made up but not heavily made up. It allows people to see her face,” Angela adds about Jen’s polished yet understated look that only took a shocking 20 minutes to do! It’s so simple, in fact, that you can totally recreate this look yourself with just a few items. Here’s how Angela got Jen’s look!
“I concentrated on making sure her skin was really well hydrated and then I started with just a tiny bit of base using a brush to apply it,” Angela says. A dusting of pressed powder set the foundation.
For the majority of Jen’s face, Angela used the Chanel Collection Essentielle palette. “It’s gorgeous! I gave it to Jen afterwards because she loved it so much,” Angela says.
Angela applied the lightest shadow shade under Jen’s brow bones and on her lids. “With the brown mauve color, I just shaded around the eyes,” Angela says.
Instead of using a pencil liner which can look harsh, “I took a stiff liner brush and a tiny bit of water and I dabbed it into the dark brown and drew between her lashes. Then, I used a fluffier brush with the red brown around the eyes and in the crease area,” Angela says. “She has amazing blue eyes and red brown makes the blue bluer.”
“If you make sure the mascara starts at the roots, it kind of gives a bit of liner look itself,” Angela says. She used two coats, brushing out the lashes in between.
For Jen’s cheeks, Angela used the cream blush from the palette. “Cream blush lasts longer and it really does look like it belongs on the skin. I like to make it look like it’s a natural color coming through. When it’s in a cream form I feel like it looks more like skin,” Angela says.
To get her glossy pink lips, Angela layered a lipgloss from the same palette on top of the Chanel Rouge Coco in Beige Felin.
To get Jen’s sun kissed glow, “I did a little bit of bronzer. I took one of my bigger brushes and used it as a finishing touch. A tiny bit on the forehead, tip of the nose, cheeks, chin, and neck. My trick is I use a circular motion while holding the brush so everything is blended well,” Angela says. – Marta Topran
